Herbal Colon Cleanse Versus Oxygen Colon Cleanse - My Results and Experience

There are two main methods of colon cleaning - Herbal Cleansing and Oxygen cleansing.

You have probably heard the most about herbal colon cleanses. Those are the ones where they show you those yucky long "ropes" of waste that have comes out of their colons.

We are going to look at both Herbal and Oxgen cleansing so you can decide which is best for you.  Each method works in different ways and create sometimes considerably different end results.

Herbal Based Colon Cleanses

An herbal based Colon cleanse uses herbs that cause the evacuation of waste from your bowels. They expand fiber in your colon and in effect scrape out the waste. The expanded fiber is what you are seeing when you see those gross pictures of waste - because water plus fiber plus a trip through your digestive system creates those colon shaped links of excrement.

Popular herbal ingredients are psyllium, cascara sagrada, and senna. These three herbal combinations have some risks that you need to be aware of.

With psyllium you can experience abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting if you are allergic to it. Also with psyllium you need to take a lot of fluid when you use it or you could end up with more severe clogging in your colon.

Senna is a stimulant type of laxative and it is toxic to animal muscle tissue however you'll find it in dozens of herbal teas, weight loss supplements, and especially in laxatives.

One more herbal ingredient to watch out for is cascara sagrada - it has been shown to cause serious digestive problems and worsening constipation for many users.

So if you're going to take an herbal-based cleanser make sure you don't take one that has psyllium, senna, or cascara sagrada. Unfortunately most herbal-based colon cleansers use one or more of these three ingredients.

Oxygen Based Colon Cleanses

These products are totally different from herbal products because they do not claim to work from the inside by having expanding fiber like with the herbal products, but instead, they work with the aid of oxygen.

The oxygen cleanse cleans the colon by dissolving the waste in your colon and your waste is gently and thoroughly removed from your body.

A nice aspect of using an oxygen cleanser is that you will have relatively normal bowel movements and you don't have to be concerned about knowing where restrooms are when you leave your home. This type of cleanse also says that the oxygen rich environment created in the colon helps stop the growth of harmful bacteria.

I suffered with constipation for years and I tried almost every herbal cleanse on the market and I experienced a lot of abdominal pain and cramping almost every time I used them.

Then I tried an oxygen based colon cleanse and the difference was like night and day. The oxygen cleanse was gentle and predictable with no cramping and pain. After years of doing colon cleanses, the only type I will use now is this oxygen based cleanse.
